It is important to check that any mover you are considering is licensed. Public movers in New Jersey fall under the Regulated Business Section in the Office of Consumer Protection in the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs. You may check the status of any NJ public mover license by selecting 'Public Movers and Warehousemen' under 'Type of Licensee' and typing the name of the company in the 'First Name' field.
Note: Movers with warehouses, like Merit Movers, have a 'PC' in their licence number. Movers without warehouse have a 'PM'
